    Hello Michael!
    I just upgraded the SPORTIFY theme for my client and have the same problem
    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING or ‘(‘ in /home/olex101/public_html/irechallenge.com/wp-content/themes/sportify/tesla_framework/helpers/twitter.php on line 3

    I spent couple hours googling the error and reading forums as well as on the phone with Arvixe and now when I have either PhP 5.5.3 or 5.6 enabled on my WP installation that still doesn’t solve the issue.
    I read above that I can add:
    AddType x-mapp-php6 .php
    AddHandler x-mapp-php6 .php

    To the .htaccess file, but I tried placing it into different places in the .htaccess file and I either get error forbidden or the same error as above.

    Counting on your help as soon as possible, as all my other sites have been upgraded and work great with different themes, and this site does not even show in my wordpress control panel installation!

    Thank you!
    Regards. Alexander

    Hi there,
    This is not a theme issue;
    We have inspected that the issue you are getting is related with an outdated PHP version.
    You will need to contact your hosting provider for PHP upgrading steps;
    Please make sure that your WordPress installation is running at least the PHP version specified in the minimar WordPress requirements here :
    https://wordpress.org/about/requirements/
    Hope this will be helpful
    Best Regards

    Hello Michael, as I mentioned, I already spent couple hours on the phone with my hosting and they got everything done on their end.
    Please, see the PHP version screenshot attached.

    At this point, I can do nothing more with my provider that I spent a tremendous deal of time to evaluate quite a while ago and changing it is not an option since I am paid up for years more.
    Therefore, if you could, please, help me out here and do let me know how to revert your theme update that killed my client’s website that was due to be done last week and causing not only inconvenience but a tremendous loss of opportunity for my client.

    I am sure it can be done, as it was working perfectly fine before even though plenty of functions such as schedule were not working.
    As some people mentioned in the comments on the same problem with different themes (i did couple hours research on this as well at the time i contacted you), they were able to modify the .htaccess file and get it working this way and I already submitted my ftp login credentials to you with my first post, so I would appreciate your courtesy to help your loyal client in dealing with this theme update matter.

    Best regards, Alexander

    Hi Alexander,

    I do understand your worries, and we have stepped forward and fixed the issue for you by commenting the third line from sportify/tesla_framework/helpers/twitter.php file

    Please notice that you will need to comment it also anywhere this issue will appear,

    Best Regards

    Thank you for getting the site back online Michal!!!
    The fact that I do not have to rebuilt the whole site from scratch is awesome!

    I have just one last issue before getting the theme live, for which there’re no options to modify within the theme and I could find no info about within the documentation.
    1. Where do I modify or delete a bit redundant text on the CONTACT page, namely the three lines crossed out:
    Contact Us
    Write Us
    Contact Us
    2. how do I modify SPORTIFY letters and TESLATHEMES in the footer?
    I managed to find and upload the logo there, but cannot figure out where to edit those two.
    Appreciate your help in resolving this matter!

    Best regards, Alexander

    Hi Alexander,

    You are welcome, we are glad to help you,

    Also we created a test page and echoed the php info. You still have the 5.2.17 version on this WP install.

    See here : http://irechallenge.com/test/ .

    1. You can hide one Contact Us title description by using this custom CSS :

    .box-header .entry-description{
    display: none;
    }

    1. To remove the “Designed by Teslathemes” you will have to create a child theme ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Child_Themes ) and copy the footer.php in there . Then find and modify the following line :

    Then paste your own footer copyright into Dashboard -> Sportify -> Additional Options -> Copyright Message

    Best Wishes and Happy New Year
