    Hi,
I am having trouble with getting the SAAB theme to look like the SAAB demo and would like some help doing it. I did follow the instructions I received for importing demo content and followed the SAAB documentation, but I still couldn’t make the theme look like the demo theme.
Can someone tell me how to do it and do it for me?

    Thanks,
    Sean

    Hi,

I can see that you are using Saab theme alongside with the content, and settings from a different theme. It is essential to have a clean WordPress install priorly proceeding to the demo setup.
You can flush all the WP content and settings you currently have, by using a plugin like this one: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-reset/.

Below you will find the steps you need to follow in order to replicate the exact demo on your site:

First, you need to import the demo content. This can be done in Dashboard > Zoomy > Import Demo, then import the demo options fromDashboard > Zoomy > Export/Import Options`.
After the import process has finished you need to set the menu in Dashboard > Appearance > Menus. Here you just need to assign the imported menu to the header location. This can be done on the “Manage locations” tab.
Once this done, you need to set the home and the blog pages in Dashboard > Settings > Reading. Just select the “Home” page in front page option dropdown and “Blog” page in posts page dropdown and then save.

That will create an exact website like in our demo.

    Regards.

    Hi Sean,

You need to either choose to use the WordPress Importer or the regular importer from the theme’s Framework.
WordPress Importer could be used right from the beginning ( just make sure that there are no theme required plugins first but as long as I know there are no such in Saab theme )

    Best Regards

It doesn’t matter which one you will use. Both methods will have the same result. The idea is that sometimes, the Framework importer may break on the halfway of the importing process due to insufficient value for the max_execution_time PHP setting. The WP importer can be an good alternative sometimes in such case.
