Is it possible to display posts by category? Currently I’m using the shortcode [latest_posts title……] I want to be able to show a specific category of posts, and not all of them. Is there a shortcode available for that in the Blogojoy theme?

    Thanks much!

    Hi Michael,

I tried this and it does display the post in that category, but it also displays every other post as well. I need it to just display a specific category only.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hi there,

    First remark :

Please use the category slug instead of category name :

Also, the reason why you are getting all the posts is that all your posts have “2015-entertainment-series” category, please create another one to specific only some posts

    Best Regards

    Hi Michael,

Used the slug and still getting same result. All posts continue to show.

I do have a separate category set up. The category “Twenty Sixteen” is what I’m testing with. The post name that is set to this test category is “BRONKS”. (I have BRONKS save as draft right now to prevent it from showing up on the live page. I change it to Published when testing.)

    Thanks!

    Hi there,

The category “Twenty Sixteen” doesn’t seem to have any posts :

    https://drive.google.com/a/red-sky.pl/file/d/0B11RflJnvBkjVTAwc0hhYmIzUkk/view?usp=drivesdk

Also in the page you have different category slug : 2015-entertainment-series

Please decide what category are you using, then assign to it some posts, and then paste the category slug as shortcode parameter

    Best Regards

    Hi,

My test Post is currently saved as a “draft”, which is why the category Twenty Sixteen doesn’t appear to have any posts. When testing however, I change post to “published” and it is assigned to the proper test category of “twenty-sixteen”.

It still doesn’t show up on the page by itself when using the shortcode: [latest_posts category=”twenty-sixteen” title=”Shows & Events” description=”2016 Entertainment Series”]

    Thanks!

Sorry, my mistake, I have just asked our Framework developer and he told me that the category shortcode parameter doesn’t actually work with regular posts, only with custom posts !

If this feature is really needed then we can implement it just for you as part of a paid customization. For this purpose you can write an e-mail to lab@teslathemes.com.

Thanks Michael. The feature is not essential to what I’m doing, it’d just be nice to have.

It would be a great feature to add in an update to the theme at some point!

    Thanks again for your help!

    Hi there,

We have implemented the category filter in the latest theme update which will be launched today,

You will have the possibility to add category=”” parameter with category slug as filter !

    Best Regards
